About Me and Yoga.

I was born in 1964 and I have three adult children. I started practising yoga at the age of about 42 and have dipped my toes into many of it's forms, including Vinyasa flow,  Kundalini, Ayengar, Hatha and Restorative.

I discovered Ashtanga and Mysore practise in 2010 with Jess Glenny at Embody dance yoga in Greenwich and was hooked. I became her apprentice and then gained my RYT200hrs in the Summer of 2017 with Yoga London. I studied further during the Pandemic (online) and passed another accredited 200hours with Corrie Mccallum in 2021. I continue to study and do short courses to extend my knowledge in this more than 5000 year old tradition. I have visited the home of Yoga, India 3 times and have trained in Vipassana meditation.

I teach Hatha/Ashtanga based yoga, focusing on the breath. My yoga sessions are open to all people of all sizes, ages, genders, ethnicities, religions. Please be able to get down onto and back up off the floor. I want my yoga students to be playful and experimental as we all learn what a joyful practise Yoga can be in and how you can incorporate it into your everyday life to help become physically and emotionally happier.

My Monday classes are for all levels of physical ability and I don't play music unless its for background sound during relaxation/breathing exercises. We are a very welcoming group of mixed ages and experience.

Saturdays; I teach the Primary series of Ashtanga, which is aimed for people with reasonable physical fitness...you will sweat! No Yoga experience here is needed, Ashtanga is a very physical form of Yoga and I will help newcomers to this practice get to grips with whatever their body (and quite often their head) can adapt to.

I am available to teach 1 to 1 in your home and for corporate/team building/stress relief sessions as well as looking at particular areas of Yoga and Ashtanga. Please contact me for prices.

Outdoor Yoga

On a more personnal level -I have worked and still do; as a self-employed Hairdresser. I have Asthma, Menieurs disease, Glaucoma and have suffered with depression, I also have arthritis in my hips. Yoga came into my life at the right time and due to practising it and meeting many others within the Yoga World and along with the right medication for me I am loving life.
I love practising headstands and backbends and am learning that with age listening to my body I can enjoy being more gentle in my asanas (poses.)  I meditate regularly.
Other passions are; chocolate, trees, black coffee, dogs, (I have 4) gardening, dancing, laughter, pottery, red wine, scrapbooking, France, champagne, blue sky and pottering at home! I have been a vegetarian since I was 18 and vegan since late2023. I am totally against all animal cruelty. I've just taken up learning to play the guitar (classsical/Spannish) again after 35 years of neglect and have recently started to learn to use a sewing machine. xxx
